Materials: 1 ball Bernat Handicrafter® cotton 4 ply worsted weight 1 ½ oz./42.5g; set of 4 double pointed knitting needles size US 7, 24” circular knitting needle US 7.

Size: Approximately 10 in. diameter                                   

Gauge: 4sts = 1”

 

Abbreviations:

K = knit

K2tog = knit 2 sts together

M1 = make one, an increase made by picking up the bar between 2 sts, being careful not to twist it, knit it.

P = purl

P2tog = purl 2 sts together

Rep = repeat

Rnd/rnds = round/rounds

Sl = slip

St/sts = stitch/stitches

X = times

Yo = yarn over

With Double pointed needles cast on 6 sts, divide on 3 needles, taking care not to twist work.  Mark beginning of rounds.

Rnd 1: p.

Rnd 2: * k (1), yo, rep from * to end.

Rep these 2 rnds, increasing the number of sts in ( )’s by 1 each even numbered rnd, until there are 84 sts.  Change to circular needles when needed.  End rnd 2.

Next rnd: p, decreasing by working p2tog, evenly spaced on rnd (80 sts)

Edging:

Rnd 1: * k2, (k1, yo, k1, yo, k1) in next st, k2, rep from * to end.

Rnds 2, 4, and 6: p.

Rnd 3: * k2tog, k2, m1, k1, m1, k2, k2tog, rep from * to end.

Rnd 5: * k2tog x 2, m1, (k1, yo, k1) in next st, m1, k2tog x 2, rep from * to end.

Rnd 7: bind off in knit.

To finish, weave in ends.
